8am After breakfast a 2 hour drive takes you to historic Malacca. On arrival visit St Peter's Church the oldest Roman Catholic Church. Proceed on to Kampong Morten - a traditional Malay Village that maintains its customs and traditions in a bustling modern city. The living Museum, Villa Sentosa boasts of unique interior designs and Malay traditional wear, musical instruments and antique furniture. A house tour awaits you.
We move to the Stadthuys Historical Dutch Museum and house of Dutch Governor. Take a walkabout to St Paul's Hill and the A Famosa - the remains of the gateway built by the Portuguese.
1pm Local lunch and visit the oldest Chinese Temple - the Cheng Hoon Teng followed by a stroll through Jonkers' Street - the street of antiquities and souvenirs.
3pm Depart Malacca for Kuala Selangor - a remote fishing village. On arrival visit a lighthouse on Bukit Melawati - a haven for the silvered leaf monkeys. The guide will get snacks for the monkeys and the monkeys will clamber all over you for the food in your hands. A unique brush with nature and a take-home experience ! You will be mesmerized. Mark my word !
Fresh seafood dinner is served at a riverside cafe.
7pm Catch a boat to watch fireflies (silence to prevail ) that flash synchronously in a mating ritual on mangrove trees lined along the river. . The lights are produced by a biochemical reaction on the fireflies' bottoms and they resemble a Christmas tree.
8.30pm Return journey to Kuala Lumpur arriving approximately 10pm. End of tour.
