This 3-hour guided tour takes you through the chocolate factories and boutique candy shops in San Francisco’s Mission District, sampling treats at each stop of course. Munch on single-origin, locally made chocolate bars as well as sweet treats like caramel and pralines. The Mission is chockablock with chocolaty goodness.

Walk through the neighborhood as the guide points out colorful wall murals and explains the neighborhood’s intriguing history. The Mission is known for its large Mexican community. Mission Dolores, the oldest surviving structure in the city, dating from 1776, is located in the neighborhood. The area is also known for its hip and funky bars, restaurants and shops.

But the neighborhood’s history is just part of this tour. You’ll stop in candy shops and sample the fare. Hit up a Mexican restaurant to sample a Latin take on chocolate: the famous mole sauce, which is poured over enchiladas, chicken or eggs, among other things. Wash it all down with more chocolate: chocolate-spiked fruit smoothies and Valrhona drinking chocolate.
