Head to H□liport d'Issy-Les-Moulineaux in southwest Paris in late afternoon to board your helicopter, and take to the skies toward Ch teau de Vaux-le-Vicomte. Gazing out at the glittering French capital below, spot famous sites like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral, and continue over magnificent Versailles Palace.
Enjoy aerial views of the French countryside as you fly 35 minutes to Ch teau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, located near the town of Maincy about 37 miles (60 km) southeast of Paris. One of the most beautiful, stately and significant French castles, Vaux-le-Vicomte was the inspiration behind Versailles and a testament to the bold architectural vision of Nicolas Fouquet, who worked under King Louis XIV. You may also recognize the Ch teau and gardens from the James Bond movie, Moonraker.
After landing at the ch teau, take an hour spin around the gardens in a golf cart, or head straight inside with your provided audio guide. Learn about the castle's history as you admire lavish gilded walls, stone statues, beautiful tapestries and fine 17th-century furnishings. You’re free to wander as you please.
As dusk falls, the gardens twinkle with the lights of more than 2,000 candles. Head to the ch teau's restaurant and sit down for a 3-course meal served with Champagne and wine, as classical music plays in the background. Choose from a beef and lobster menu or a vegetarian menu, all focusing on local, seasonal produce (see Itinerary below for a sample menu).
Your meal is followed by a spectacular fireworks display above the castle grounds. Marvel at the colorful explosions illuminating the night sky, house and gardens ─ a magical way to end your evening.
Afterwards, board a limousine and be whisked back to your Paris hotel.
