Wonderful trip to Alcatraz. Kurt was our pier contact and was an excellent representative for the Hornblower tours. He was witty and cordial and very informative. Taking the first boat over is a must. Smaller crowd and more time view the Rock. Had a box lunch on pier and then boarded a gas powered version of an old cable car. Our driver Joan was a sweetheart. She and Kurt made a great team as we toured and hit Bay highlights. Cable car tour was roughly 2 hours. We also had a small group of 15 people which was nice.

1 day in San Francisco great way to see all the sights. The bus driver and tour guide were great Joan and Vicki. A very personal tour of the city.

I didn’t have much time in SF so trying to find a tour to fit everything in was easier than I thought with this tour. Jessica was great very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour got me the sites that I most wanted in a short time. The cable car trip was great. Highly recommend if you don’t have much time in the Bay.

Tour was really well organized, lunch was delicious and filling. Valerie was informative and fabulous. Was great to get to Alcatraz early. Highly recommend.

If in San Francisco, you must do this tour! We were out on the first boat of the day so arrived before all the crowds. On the day we went all tours were sold out for 2 weeks ahead, so make sure you book well in advance We were free to tour the island at our own pace within a given time period. The audio tour of the prison building was just brilliant, very interesting and informative. We even met a former prison guard who was there to chat to.
On our return from the island we were provided with lunch the transported around San Francisco picking up on the main sights and taken across Golden Gate Bridge. Great driver, informative guide, well planned tour. Enjoy it, we did!

The early access to Alcatraz was phenomenal and we had a wonderful tour of The Rock. We returned back on the ferry and were delighted to find packed brown bags with our selected lunch. The lunch bag contained a very fulfilling meal!The cable car sightseeing tour was a bust for us since we are deaf and the tour guide did not even have a prepared text highlighting the each stop/point. Hence, we were not impressed to have paid so much for the tour but accommodations were not provided. Otherwise the ride on the cable car was neat.

This was a great trip for our family of 4 (with 1 tween and 1 teen)!
Jessica, our guide for the day, was SUPER friendly, knowledgable and helpful! The afternoon portion of the tour, with the converted cable car, did not disappoint, and our driver Joan was amazing at navigating and dodging Friday afternoon SF traffic! My only complaint was that there was a little bit of wasted time. We were told to arrive by 7:45 am, and the first ferry to Alcatraz (which we were scheduled for and took) doesn't depart until 8:45 am. Had we known that, We could have arrived a bit later and been fine on time and not had to stand outside in the chilly wind for quite as long.
