Your tasting tour starts in the heart of Munich, where you will meet your guide for an appetizing afternoon dedicated to Bavaria’s famous local delicacies. And don’t worry about calories because you’ll be walking between stops! Stroll through charming Old Town Munich, full of historical sites and a romantic atmosphere. From afar, admire the Old Town Hall, Munich’s largest Gothic church that dates back to the 14th century.

Munich is famous for its traditional, mouth-watering foods. While exploring the city, walk to the Viktualienmarkt local food market, which has been supplying Munich with high-quality food and drinks for 200 years. Enjoy samples of delicious specialties such as obatzda, a traditional soft-cheese dish composed of Camembert and butter, seasoned with paprika and other peppers; weisswurst, a seasoned white veal sausage accompanied with a pretzel and sweet mustard; and auszogne, a freshly prepared typical Bavarian dessert of fried dough pastry smothered in sugar.

After your samplings, visit a vintage local restaurant. Here, you can feast from a Bavarian food platter and a selection of traditional southern German sausages. Your knowledgeable guide, dressed in traditional German attire, will share the history and amusing stories behind local cuisine as you enjoy the fare. Once you’ve had your fill, your guide will escort you back to the departure point to end your tour.

We met the group and tour guide at the train station. We boarded a train which was included in the tour. We only had to go a few stops before starting the walking tour. Our guide was very informative and we covered allot of area. We stopped to sample a german platter of meats and veggs, tasted a german sausage at our next stop and then enjoyed a freshly baked donut at another. At no point did we sit at a restaurant for a sit down tasting. We were standing for each tasting, the only spot we stood at around a table was when we shared sampling the german platter. I did think we were supposed to enjoy a beer at some point but that never happened. I had the feeling that our guide was put in charge of this tour at the last minute. You must enjoy walking and eating if you sign up for this tour. It was interesting but I feel we were short changed.

What a great tour. Yolanda, our guide, was delightful. We walked around the markets, had delightful food and ended up at a lovely caf□ for a wonderful dessert. It felt like we were going out with a good friend. I highly recommend this tour if you have a couple of hours. Yolanda was able to offer us lots of suggestions as to where to go.

the program of bavarian food walking tour seemed to fit to us. It was not similar as picture shown. It was only food testing. we were escorted to munich market place. It was only about 2 hours tours including eating time. I think it would be better to have a better place for food testing plus drinks.

Sabina was fantastic! She was my tour guide, and gave me all sorts of useful info about the city, as well as the delicious food we tasted. I would definitely take this tour again, as well as recommend it to new tourists visiting Munich. I even went back to the tour office the next day to join her Salzburg tour. Just because she was the guide. that tour was 5 stars as well
