Bhagirath is the nephew of the Queen of Mysore the Dowager Maharani who was married during the golden age of Mysore State to the then Maharaja, King Krishnaraj Wodeyar the 4th. As Chandrika Devi cooks up delightful meals and invites you to the table to treat your tastebuds, Bhagirath enjoys hosting you and telling you stories from the years gone by: what India or Mysore (or even his old home Bangalore) used to be, what his life was like, growing up in a royal household, and what he imagines the future holds for his grandchildren.At their apartmenton the foot of the Chamundi Hill with a magnificent view of the valley is where the Lalitha Mahal palace stands, you will enjoythisquaintdining experiencemeal. Your host was the owner of one of Mysore city's most "cool and happening" restaurants in the 1970s, where people from all over the world would convene at the end of a long tour day. He has since been known for his hospitality and charm. Today, in his days of retirement, he takes pleasure in hosting modern day travelers over a meal in his private home.
Your dining experience begins as you meet your host family. Enjoy some drinks and snacks and conversations about the old state and royal heritage before moving to the dining table to enjoy an authentic local meal.
