Your tour will start in the ancient village of Orta San Giulio which lies on charming lake Orta, a true gem at a short distance from well-known lake Maggiore. Accompanied by an expert guide you will discover the medieval lanes and the old palaces of Orta. The small village hides elegant buildings and traditional houses that date back to centuries ago and give the village of Orta its special appeal.
After visiting the lovely village of Orta, walking through its old alleys and houses, you will be able to enjoy a boat ride (included in the tour price) to the island of San Giulio where a 12th-century church still dominates the island together with an Abbey. A large religious community lives on the isle of St. Julius and contributes to the old-time atmosphere of the island where you will also find elegant villas with nice private gardens.
The tour will be over once back in the village's main square right in the centre where you may decide to stay if you wish to spend more time on your own. Otherwise you will be accompanied back to the starting point.
