sites were interesting. except water puppet show could be skipped. Also, there was no ride back to the hotel after water puppet show. guide was knowledgeable and understandable.

Whole day we kept driving repeatedly and passed through the same roads over and over again. Poorly planned , exhausting and incredibly a waste. The guide did not say ever which area we were passing through, we wondered. Also felt the same at attractions we stopped at. In the end we were dropped at puppet show and asked to go to our hotel by ourselves. I have injured knee, we went wrong way and had to walk back with limping knee. Others , who did not attended the show were also asked to walk to their hotels and dropped at the same place as us.

I did not like this trip at all.

Started well but the tickets said returned to your hotel, this was not the case, we were left standing outside the Water Puppet show for quite a while when the guide went off with other tourists to help them find their hotel, we did not know this, he then gave us the tickets for the show and said goodbye, we all queried regarding the transfer to the hotel and he said that they do not do that and pointed to the direction of the hotel and said three sets of lights turn right or to go and catch a cab. For old people this is terrible especially as the traffic is very busy in Hanoi.

The tour guide was not enthusiastic in providing commentary for this tour

We were a group of 9 people who took this guided tour. Halfway of the tour a couple left due to bad services provided by the tour guide.

Reasons giving only one star are: -
1. Lack of coordination - we stayed at Pan Pacific hotel near West Lake which is located only 4 minutes walk for the first sight seeing, Tran Quoc Pagoda, also near West Lake. We could be given an instruction to meet the tour guide at the Tran Quoc Pagoda instead we were directed to take a taxi to the Opera House 25 minutes drive in the old quarter.
2. Tour guide - We were a bit unfortunate to have a tour guide can't remember his name but a photo of him is attached, who were not interested to guide/tell us about city of Hanoi, instead he spent most of his time on the mobile phone talking. Halfway through the tour, a couple left the group because they felt that there was no point wasting their time for not getting services promised on the tour. NOTE: They should asked their money back.
3. End of tour - A few people took the deluxe option water puppet show. When we arrived at the venue the guide just handed the tickets to us and left without saying good bye or thanks for taking the tour. Very disappointing indeed.

I would not recommend this tour due to the above reasons

Yes, yes . Do it. Will be very busy day but a lot of enjoyment

Excellent day, long and ran over the times, but this is not a negative. Lots packed into a day, however could have spent less time in the pottery village.

The food is good, and the tour guide explained pretty well.

From start to finish the tour was full of interesting sites and information - Mr Lucky our tour guide was just wonderful, very knowledgeable - the lunch was just great - would highly recommend this tour - very happy traveller

All in all it was quite good, and i would recommend it to anyone wanting to see the city in a day...
