You walk with the guide to the show and are shown to your already allocated seats, a charming show which lasts around an hour which is just the right length of time. You have an info sheet which explains the overview of the stories which the puppets are performing. The tour of the old town is informative and the guide showed us houses and accommodation down tiny alleys which we would never imagined could exist, neither would we have tried to go down on our own. A good introduction to this area.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The guide walked us to the Show and after it was waiting to walk us through old quarter Hanoi. We loved it and ate at places that we would never had been to on our own. Our guide Kem was very informative and we learnt a lot about Vietnamese, it's food and its culture. Excellent, must do tour in Hanoi!

Tickets for the water puppets were waiting for us at our hotel when we checked in - just as promised. We had a great ad-hoc little walking tour with our guide after the show, just the two of us. Our informative and friendly guide introduced us to some typical Hanoi street food and beer in a local streetside place, something we would nver have done on our own.

I really enjoyed the show but the seats were in the very last row in the theatre. I had to pay appx. 13.00 to upgrade my seat to the front three rows. I could not find my guide after the show and it was raining so hard I just got a taxi back to the hotel.

We did this tour on the first night and it was an excellent addition to the water puppet show tickets. The water puppet show itself is worth checking out but the tour afterwards of the old quarter was a bigger highlight. I recommend doing this early on in your visit, especially if you are staying in the Old Quarter!
