On this full-day coach tour from Zurich, you’ll see the gorgeous countryside and visit the charming city of Lucerne, including its Old Town. In Stans, hop on an oldtimer funicular railway car and then take the Stanserhorn ‘CabriO’ an open-air gondola the rest of the way up to the Rondorama rotating restaurant and Marmot Park. From Stans, enjoy a train ride back to Lucerne!

Pass By: Sihlquai

After having made your way to the meeting point in central Zurich, depart with your knowledgeable guide aboard a comfortable coach through the scenic countryside of central Switzerland. Relax on the journey along the Albis a chain of wooded hills and pass the shores of Lake Lucerne.

Stop At: Luzern

Admire the picturesque, 24-mile (39-km) lake positioned between steep limestone cliffs.
While you are driving into Lucerne, your guide points out the main sites of Lucerne, such as the beautiful Chapel Bridge or the Jesuiten Church. With some free time, explore the Old Town at your leisure, and discover the quaint alleys, squares, churches and homes of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque design. See the 15th-century town hall and count the nine watchtowers atop the well-preserved 14th-century town walls.

Pass By: Stanserhorn-Bahn

Then, continue by coach to Stans, a town surrounded by orchards, and board the vintage funicular railway, built in 1893 and recently restored. You’ll delight in an unforgettable ride through flowering meadows to the valley, and disembark at the station.
Your guide will leave you here so that you can explore independently.

Stop At: CabriO - Mount Stanserhorn, Lucerne Switzerland, Stans, Canton of Nidwalden

ake the CabriO the world’s first open-top aerial cable car to the summit of Mt Stanserhorn, rising 6,230 feet (1,900 meters) above sea level. During the 25-minute ride, relish the remarkable view from the roofless upper deck of the gondola as you ascend. Take in the panorama from the mountaintop as you look down at more than 10 lakes and 62 miles (100 km) of the Swiss Alps mountain range.
Next, go on a short hike to Stanserhorn’s peak and visit the Marmot Park for a chance to watch the animals in their natural habitat. If you choose, dine on a typical Swiss meal (own expense) in the Rondorama, a revolving restaurant with fabulous views.

Stop At: Luzern

After returning to Stans, take the public train back to Lucerne for some additional free time in the charming city. In the evening, your guide takes you back by coach to Zurich.

Duration: 1 hour

The guide will drop you off at the same place, where you have been picked up in the morning.

This day, October 14, 2018 was my 75th Birthday. What a Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible day!!! This day trip without a doubt gets a 5 Star Rating from me!!!!! My son and I ended up the day by staying in Lucerne and having dinner at The Old Swiss House Restaurant and then catching our own train back to our stay in Sins, Switzerland. The Old Swiss House Restaurant ended surprising the hell of me with a lite sparkler, fruit, pastry, and Happy 75th Birthday wrote out in Swiss chocolate on a plate. And a little Swiss music box playing Happy Birthday. It had been 52 years since I had been through Switzerland. The scenery on this day trip was unbelievable SPECTACULAR!!!!! I LOVE SWITZERLANDS Splendor and Beauty! This is a must see trip for everyone!!!!! Lucerne is BEAUTIFUL!!!

The Alps up close with the most amazing open air ride to get there.I could do this tour over and over again.In one day you experience so much,the air at the top is strkingky pure and fresh and the view spectacular.You need to include this add on as it makes the tour 10/10

The drive to luzern with wonderful scenic views in a comfortable air conditioned coach , the comments were clear plus whole tickets were ready , they were on time , and please dont look over the trip in the web to enjoy the amazed day tour

One of the best tours we've been on. Tour guide provided local color on all the towns we went through...and our stay in Lucerne was not quite long enough but OK to get a feel of the old town. We were the only couple going to the Stanserhorn and had plenty of time to take in the wonderful sights on this mountain top. Although the weather was not "picture perfect" it was still yielding spectacular views. We would do it again. Since part of this was self guided (and OK with us) it was nice. Perhaps some more photo ops would be an additional plus...but all in all absolutely Excellent.

Great tour guide and views from the mountain. I was not at all impressed with the extremely over packed bus. As a matter of fact, we decided to take the train instead of riding the bus back to Z□rich. It was well worth the extra money.

A wonderful trip. Organized very well would highly recommend. Value for money. The scenery was to die for amazing views for picture but it does get very cold when you reach the top on the cabrio.

Beautiful day. Lucerne was a great surprise-What a beautiful city. Stanserhorn gave us the beautiful view being high up on top of the world. The ride up in the open top cable was breathtaking...A must do!!

We absolutely loved the Stanserhorn portion of this tour. Highly recommend! One note to travelers...if you go on a Saturday, the stores in Lucerne close at 4 pm, so shopping isn't an option when you return by train from Stanserhorn.

No fault of Viator, but our flight was delayed and we were unable to make it in time to go on our trip to Lucerne.
