The “Nordeste” (Northeastern part of the island) is known for its gardens and spotlessly clean streets and roads, where flowers seem to blossom around each corner. Still, it is one of the least explored parts of the island. High, steep cliffs covered with green foliage alongside with black basaltic rock formations, are some of the highlights of this hidden gem. Another highlight of this day is the Natural Park “Ribeira dos Caldeires”, with its impressivo waterfall.

In the afternoon, another highlight is one of the best, yet secluded, beaches of the island: Ribeira Quente.
