Boca dos Namorados with wonderful landscapes and Cabo Giro with the famous skywalk. Starting our tour from a viewpoint overlooking Funchal bay we drive uphill to Boca dos Namorados where you will be able to see the famous village of Curral das Freiras (Nun's Valley) at nearly 1000 meters high above sea level. Heading higher to Boca da Corrida through a spectacular off road, where at an elevation of about 1200 meters you may be amazed by the main volcanic complex and highest mountains of the island. From there we drive downhill to Jardim da Serra, place known by its cherry production and where we do a quick stop for a portugues coffee, natural tea or the traditional local drink Poncha freshly made by a local. Continuing to Cabo Giro, the highest cliff in Europe and second in the World with 589 meters better known for its renovated viewpoint with suspended glass floor. Later we will finish our tour at the warm and traditional fishing village of Cmara de Lobos.

This is one of those tours not usually available in other cities. Not many places allow you to stand up in the back of a Land Rover with your head out of the roof taking photos and videos whilst it drives off road and over really bumpy terrain. But the views are totally worth it. You will climb and descend gradients of 20-25 degrees and wonder how the driver manages to do it. Our driver was very funny and gave very good information. Would highly recommend this tour if you have good grip and good balance. There is room for 7 passengers with only the front seat passenger unable to stand up. Take warm clothing as driving in the mountains with the roof off can get a bit chilly.

We traveled with Lorenzo forgive my spelling on our tour. It was spectacular. He made sure we took the roads less traveled to really see the views and cruise off-road. The best part was how he took the time to explain all the views and background history. He also took us through local hotspots of coffee, poncha a local delight! and helped us learn to embrace the historic culture of Madeira island.

I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR. Specifically request Lorenzo if you can, he's TOP NOTCH.

Tour was great!!! The scenery was unbelievable. The guides Lucy and Fillipe were amazing. They had so much info to offer on the area, the sites, the vegetation, history. It was an excellent trip. They were professional, courteous and friendly. It was a great way to see the sites. Do this tour!!!
