Day 1: Cusco - Mollepata (Marcoccasa) - Soraypampa (Meals: L, D)
We will depart Cusco at around 5:30am and head to Marcoccasa (11,154 feet, 3,400 meters), passing the village Mollepata. Once we arrive there, we will meet the horsemen and the rest of the group and start the trek. You will start hiking in a great valley surrounded by incredible landscapes and snow-capped mountains such as Humantay and Salkantay standing at 20,551 feet high (6,264 meters above sea level). You'll reach your campsite at Soraypampa at an altitude of 12,139 feet (3,700 meters above sea level).

Day 2: Sorayapampa  Salkantay Pass - Challway (Meals: B, L, D)
After enjoying breakfast, you will set off toward Salkantay Pass (15,092 feet, 4,600 meters) which offers incredible views of snow-capped Salkantay. Then, you will descend again and be able to ennjoy the increasing vegetation of the ecosystem. You'll reach your campsite located in Challway (9,842 feet, 3,000 meters), within the tropical forest with a warm climate.

Day 3: Challway  Wiaypoco  La Playa (Meals: B, L, D)
The third day will be all about the flora and plantations of the region. You'll descend to a dimmed forest and be able to see the diversity of different species of orchids, Bromelains, and many other plants. Then, you will see coffee, cacao, and fruit plantations. You'll also have a chance to meet and interact with the local families of Wiaypoco and La Playa. That day you will camp at La Playa.

Day 4: La Playa  Llactapata  Aguas Calientes Town (Meals: B, L, D)
You'll depart from La Playa and head to the archaeological complex of Llactapata located at 8,694 feet high (2,650 meters above sea level). From here, you will get a wonderful view of the mountain of Machu Picchu. You will continue down to the hydroelectric station and take the train towards Aguas Calientes, reaching an altitude of 6,726 feet (2,050 meters above sea level). Here, you'll spend the night at a hotel.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes  Machu Picchu  Cusco (Meals: B)
Enjoy breakfast and leave the hotel at approximately 5:30am to take a bus to Machu Picchu, reaching an altitude of 7,874 feet (2,400 meters above sea level). You will arrive at the citadel at around 6am to start a guided tour of the archaeological site. Your guide will tell you all about the site, life and culture of the Incas. You will also have time on your own to enjoy Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu. Then, it's time to head back to Aguas Calientes by train. You can choose to leave at either at 2:45pm or stay a bit longer and leave at 6:45pm. Before you leave and to top off your trip, you can enjoy lunch at a nice restaurant in town or visit the hot springs in Aguas Calientes.
