Meet your guide upon hotel pickup in Kuala Lumpur, and board your comfortable minivan for the drive to Kampung Sungai Kertas, located just 12 miles (20 km) from the city. On arrival at Bougainvillea, you’re welcomed by your host family.
After a home-prepared lunch, mingle with the villagers and play traditional games such as congkak (a counting game that is hard to master), batu seremban (throwing stones) and ten-ten (hop, step and jump) ─ a great way to get to know the locals and learn about their customs. Discover the area’s traditional heritage, where villagers still practice gotong royong, helping one another in times of need or celebration.
In the afternoon, visit Selayang Hot Springs, a popular spot among both elderly and young people for the natural spring water’s ability to heal skin conditions and other ailments. Choose to soak in several hot pools of varying temperature, or simply relax under shady trees by a cool, soothing stream.
Share another home-cooked meal in the evening and spend time at your leisure before retiring to bed.

After an early breakfast, explore the surroundings outside the village, including a sugar cane field, livestock farm, limestone caves and a waterfall. Enjoy a farewell lunch with your host family before returning by minivan to your hotel or the airport in Kuala Lumpur.
