Dubrovnik never fails to awe the visitor; its streets paved with white limestone, its walls crowning the city, and its medieval sandstone-colored houses oozing with history.
This 1.5-hour guided walking tour takes you deep into the city’s 1,400-year history, recalling ancient tales when Dubrovnik was one of the world’s most prosperous port cites. It tells tales of war and lets the tour-goer in on the culture of the city.
After meeting at Pile Gate, begin the journey through history and through Old Town. Pass the Franciscan Monastery and admire Orlando’s Column, a monument on the Stradun inspired by the city’s long-standing freedom and sovereignty. See, too, Onofrio’s Fountain, built in 1438 at the end of a 8-mile (12-km) aqueduct that gave the city its water supply.
The walk also stops at the Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption, a baroque church built after the devastating earthquake of 1667.

Our guide was Marko, and he was excellent. He was energetic and knowledgeable and good at getting the group interested in what he was saying. He told us a lot of extremely interesting things about the buildings and history of Dubrovnik, in a way that was engaging and often very funny! I would highly recommend this tour, it was one of the highlights of our visit.

The guide provided a well rounded tour of the city, and gave context to all the sites visited. Little hidden gems and funny interesting anecdotes also made it all very enjoyable. Recommend the 6pm session as the weather is cooler and cruise ship hordes have departed!
