What a treat to tour Santiago with Juan Pablo! His insight into the local history, architecture, culture and food was generous and diverse. The tour amply satisfied our stomachs and interests.

Had a great day getting to know Santiago and their food. Would definitely re oend this tour. Pablo was a great guide and we got to taste some fantastic local foods.

You Need to re-write the description of this tour. We took the City’s Free walking tour on the first day of our arrival. It was about 5 hours. Without the food tasting. So therefore when we went on Viator tour... it was a repeat. Pretty much our highlite was the pisco sour. We sat down at 2 restaurant. First to eat an empanada. Then to another restaurant to eat the corn pie which was a famous food within Chile. Way too sweet for most of us. Only one person finished it. Then we went to a park where we took a lift to see a view of Santiago. Filo, our tour guide purchased a drink call moto con huesillo a sugar syrup drink with wheat and barley at the bottom. So sweet.,,,!!!!!!!! . We felt this food tasting tour was overpriced and did not educate the food in Santiago. We could of seen how some of our items were made esp. the corn pie and the drinks.

What a great day. Our guide Juan Pablo was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Santiago. The tour began at the President’s square and continued through the market area of the City. The eating experience stares with a light snack at a fun local cafe. From there we wandered through the Fish Market where we ate a fabulous Fish empanada and then through the beautiful flower market and vegetable market. Along the way, Juan Pablo Fuller is in on local history and and current events. We ended the day atop the beautiful Cristo mountain. Fabulous group of tourists and a wonderful guide made it a perfect day.

I booked this to fill some free time at the end of a business trip. Overall a very enjoyable tour - Nicholas our guide was friendly, engaging and enthusiastic, really enjoyed the time with him. The small size of the group makes a big difference too. We enjoyed a visit to the central market - nice as we saw a good chunk of ordinary Santiago - for a delicious seafood empanada and pisco sour the best of the 5 I had on this trip!, then trendy Bella Vista and Lastarria firstly for gelato, then a lunch of traditional Chilean food. We were then left at a small market area with more shops and restaurants. Overall a very enjoyable 4 hours.

The only negative I have and Nicholas was very apologetic about this and adapted the tour to compensate, so I don't hold him to blame! is that as I went on a Monday, the trip up San Cristobel Hill was not possible as the cable car etc. are closed on Monday. Viator should make this clear on the listing - I didn't see anything to warn me of this.

Our guide was brilliant. The tour was great and the food selected was nice.

Brilliant day out thanks primarily to being with our cook Mikail Sampen. Mikail is a genuinely brilliant and passionate chef who cares hugely about Chilean cuisine and its preparation using locally sourced products. He opened up his restaurant for us to cook an excellent lunch using very simple ingredients that we bought from a local market - an experience in its own right. We had some amazing food in the capital Santiago, including some high end and expensive cuisine, but Mikail's abilty to create something very wonderful out of simply, fresh, ingredients down in agricutural Santa Cruz, leads me to believe he's one of the best and most promising young cooks in Chile.

Our guide Nicolas was very easy to understand and spoke clearly and loudly enough even for us hard-of-hearing. He took us to two nice restaurants representative of Chile, and to three different types of markets. The fish market was fascinating with an enormous display of the fish off the Chilean coast. He offered a lot of historical and current information that kept the tour interesting. We got a lesson on how to pay for and ride the subway, so now we're confident to head out on our own today. We would definitely recommend this tour.
