Based on Roddy Doyle’s Booker prize-winning, best-selling novel of the same name and written by Doyle himself, The Commitments tells the story of Jimmy Rabbitte, a young working class man with a passion for soul music, who pulls together a mismatched bunch of amateur musicians from Dublin and forms ‘the world’s hardest working band.’ However, things soon take a turn for the worst when the band begins to combust.

Make your way to the theater and watch as this thrilling and inspiring story is acted out on the stage in front of you. You'll laugh along as the newly formed band gets to know one another ─ and their instruments. With well-known soul classics such as ‘Mustang Sally,’ ‘Papa Was a Rolling Stone,’ ‘Night Train’ and ‘Try a Little Tenderness,’ tap your feet in time to the music and resist the urge to sing along.

You have the choice of two seating options for the performance inside the Palace Theatre. Standard priced seats offer a good view of the stage and are usually located in the rear stalls (stage level) or dress (upper) circle. Alternatively, opt for top priced seating to enjoy a full view of the stage and close-up views of the stars on stage. After the performance, which lasts 2.5 hours and includes an interval break, make your own way back to your accommodation.
