Meet our staff in Siena and on a minivan you’ll reach Florence where you’ll join your group to Cinque Terre. You will spend an unforgettable day discovering the most impressive Ligurian landscapes. In this area, which has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, earth and sea blend and create a unique landscape. The area consists of kilometers of rocky coasts with caves, beaches, hiking paths and breathtaking views.
First you will reach Manarola, a tiny urban jewel characterized by Genoese style ‘case-torri’ and fall in love with its colorful houses and incredible views. Then with a train you will move to Vernazza, this unique place that still preserves the remains of a Medieval castle with a cylindrical tower that if you wish you can climb, from the top the view is simply amazing!
After with another train ride you will reach Monterosso, known as the ‘pearl of Cinque Terre’. This ancient fishing village with lovely beaches and lush vegetation covering the rocks will certainly enchant you. After lunch you will have free time for a swim or a walk around the village.
In the afternoon from Monterosso to Portovenere you will enjoy a stunning 1 hour boat crossing with incredible views of the villages. Once arrived in Portovenere have some free time in this elegant and popular touristic destination where nature and human architecture are perfectly balanced. Wander in its narrow roads, discover all the hidden corners or relax in a local cafe. Afterwords with the last boat ride you'll reach La Spezia where the bus will be waiting for you.
Enjoy then a pleasant and relaxing ride back to Florence and upon arrival a minivan will take you back to Siena.

Beautiful

I recommend this if you really only have 1 day to see Cinque Terre. I would recommend spending more than one day here though.

Nice quick overview of Cinque Terre, but be prepared to move through fast. If you are looking to see as many villages as possible in a short time, this is your trip! We saw 4/5 villages, spending 20 minutes in three of them and then 3 hours in Monterosso.

I throughly enjoyed the trip. It was a little long because we had to go from Siena. Cinque Terra was definitely worth seeing.

My wife and I booked this trip because it promised great views of the Cinque Terre and the opportunity to travel by boat and train, together with some good walks and leisure time to explore the villages. We dressed accordingly.
We were picked up on time in Siena and driven to Florence. The coach was not at the rendezvous but appeared soon after. We left about 45 minutes later.
The weather was not too good and we were soon informed that the boat trip was cancelled because of rough seas.
A traffic jam on the way to the first village brought us to a complete standstill. Our guide (Amadeo) didn't seem to know what to do. "Get off coach, get back on". Then off again to walk to the village (not the intended first one).
Because of this delay there was just enough time to walk from the railway station to look at sea and back. Then a train to the second village (2 stops). The train was overcrowded even before another set of passengers (us) tried to squeeze on. The doors kept trying to close and we all ended up squashed into a double decker coach. My back didn't recover all day (I am in my middle 60s).
We disembarked at the second village and were given a half hour to explore before our rendezvous back at the station. At the station it became clear that our next train was not going to come and we actually spent over an hour on a cold, windy and damp platform while our guide became increasingly agitated. There obviously wasn't a Plan B. Eventually a crowded train arrived and took us to our next destination (for lunch).
Lunch was alright; nothing to write home about but OK. After lunch we had about 40 minutes to explore before meeting back at the station for our train to our final village. This train was on time. We disembarked at the final village and were again given just enough time to walk through the village and back to the station.
Our last train was again very busy and took us to La Spezia where we were to meet our coach. As we disembarked the doors slammed shut and even though people were trying to hold them open they kept slamming. At one point I was trapped by the shoulders. It is fortunate that I have strong shoulders or I could have suffered an injury.
The trip back to Florence passed without incident and our driver was on hand on our arrival to transport us back to Siena.
To sum up, the day was nothing like advertised. Even allowing for the unexpected (the weather that led to the cancellation of the boat trip, the traffic jam that led to rearrangement of the order we visited the villages, and the cancellation of one of the trains) there was nonetheless a lack of sensible replanning, a lack of explanation from the guide, and a complete lack of leisurely walking!
I felt that we were pushed from one place to another without care (at one point our guide sent us off through a village with no explanation, actually saying "This is not a guided tour, if you have any questions, please ask when you get back.").
I'm aware that the running of the trains is a matter for the railway company but I think potential customers should be made aware that they risk severe discomfort and, indeed, injury on this trip. I also think that the tour operator should have in place some contingency plans should this kind of disruption happen again. For example, it might be better to miss a village or two and allow more time to walk around. This day felt more like the sort of day one might have commuting to the city and back.

So worth the money!

Had only 15 minutes in one city and maybe a half hour at another. At Cinque Terra- felt rushed and the lunch was a walk on outskirts of town with rude employees. Guide was nice. Vatican tour however was awesome with an amazing guide.

Our family loved this location. If you have knee issues some of this trip is difficult. The bus drive was great, the tour guide was very knowledgable and made sure no one was left behind. Our favorite part was skipping rocks in the ocean. Great tour thist tour took us 14.5 hours. A lot of time on a bus and train, we may have considered a different tour.

This was a great trip. I enjoyed it very much. I would have preferred a bit of a slower pace and more information on the region and way of life. The boat ride was a wonderful way to see the villiages. There is certainly a level of fitness required for this tour as there are many steep hills.
