Climbing the Stairs to the Capitol, the Town Hall centre of Rome's first government, even now remains so. The Site is magical; the square with its buildings were restructured by Michelangelo in16C. It overlooks most of Rome. At its centre is the famous 2ndC bronze Equestrian Monument to Marcus Aurelius. Now a replica, you will see the original visiting the first Museum: this sculpture is still in its original gilt bronze. Poised under a glass pavilion especially built, all is full of light and colour emanating from the Roman sky.Half way through the Museum, your guide will offer a cofffee on the terrace of its cafe' which opens on a magnificent vista of Rome towards St Peter. You will return by the Lapidarium from where you will see the Roman Forum, its arches, street and buildings, and will descend on to Piazza Venenzia to the Trajan Forum and its Column. All will be ilustrated by your Classical Expert Guide.

Gianluca was FANTASTIC, such an ambassador for Rome. His knowledge and enthusiasm for for the art of ancient Rome was with out a doubt the highlight of this trip to Europe. We would gladly engage him for anything Rome.

Not worth the money. We probably should have told the guide exactly what we wanted in advance.
