Designed for budding chefs between the age of 6 and 12, this class teaches you and your child basic French cooking techniques under the guidance of a friendly chef-instructor. Prepare a main course, dessert and sweet beverage, and sit down to enjoy your meal or take it to-go. Recipes are wholesome, hearty and fun to make together at home! Your group size is limited to 16 to ensure a more personalized experience.

Arrive at L’atelier des Chefs cooking school with your child a bit ahead of time to browse the cookware shop, settle in and meet your chef-instructor. This class is designed with kids in mind, combining culinary exploration with quality family time. The day’s menu varies daily, but they’re always healthy and simple recipes that your child will love to cook again with you at home.

Engage with the chef and your fellow food lovers, learn new cooking techniques and put your new skills to the test as you prepare a home-cooked meal. Make a main course such as fresh pasta or hachis parmentier (mashed potato, diced meat and Lyonnaise sauce). Follow with a dessert such as caramelized apple with mini cinnamon cakes or chocolate fondant, and perhaps a beverage such as a smoothie or a milkshake. Under the watchful guidance of your chef, help your child prepare two to three recipes to suit all tastes.

When the cooking is done, after about 1.5 hours, choose to sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor or take your meal to-go.

I got alot for the price. It was perfect for my 10 yr. old granddaughter and we were able to eat our meal after we cooked it. My only objection was that most of the instruction and commentary was in French. The instructor did give quick instructions in English but without some of the background info she gave in French. Nevertheless I would highly recommend the class.
