Meet your expert guide and travel to a wine depot in a residential area off the regular tourist track. Your guide, an organic wine merchant, will do a fun, interactive presentation about organic French wine. Organic wine is made from grapes that are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and because of this natural process they typically exhibit greater terroir, the unique character of a wine that comes from the place it's grown.
Learn about the main wine regions of France so you'll know the difference between a Bordeaux and a Burgundy. Hear about the complex process of making Champagne. Pick up French wine terms so you can understand French wine labels, and review the art of proper wine tasting.
Of course, the highlight is tasting good organic French wine! Your guide will offer you generous servings of six French wines -- including a white, a ros□, three reds and a Champagne (see Itinerary for sample selections). Sip your wine and snack on our gorgeous olive bread with your small group. The laid-back, intimate atmosphere makes it easy to ask your guide any other questions you may have about French wine.
By the time your 2-hour wine-tasting class in Nice comes to a close, you'll feel confident about going out to dinner and ordering French wine like a pro.

Iwen the expert was very witty and knowledgeable. The wines were also good. I'm not the most knowledgeable about wine so learnt a lot. Only disappointment was that some of the clients weren't as interested in the theory and just wanted to drink.

If you like wines this is excellent quality and value. Ewan knows his wines and gives you a great experience. You taste 6 wines and if you want drink a glass of each not just tasting quantities. You receive good information on french wines.

An excellent experience! This is by far the best wine tasting that I have done in France. Ewan, our sommelier, is very knowledgable and personable. The wine and champagne selections provided a diverse selection of the regions in France as well as being high quality. I highly recommend this experience and it is fabulous value for money.

Location is through a quaint courtyard set back from what we would assume is a normal Nice neighbourhood/residential district. Would have been difficult to find on our own as there is no sign (blew down in the wind), but there were instructions in our voucher to meet him at a very recognizable location so there was no issue. Easy walk through Nice from the hotel on the way there and then to the waterfront after the tour.

Very educational, and not just about French wine. Not something we had thought about before (to look for organic wines), but now we know what to look for. Excellent wines. Good group atmosphere - enjoyed meeting some folks so much we actually went to dinner afterwards with another couple we met on the tour! Guide did a great job engaging the group in discussion.
