Day 1: Adelaide Eyre Peninsula (L, D)
Depart Adelaide early in the morning to catch the first ferry from Wallaroo. Cross the Spencer Gulf to the Eyre Peninsula on a 2-hour journey, while getting to know your group and enjoying the ferry lounge, cafe, and observation decks. Alternatively, take advantage of free Wi-Fi and snap enviable pics to post to social media.
Upon arrival in Lucky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, drive to Port Lincoln where you stop for lunch. Afterwards, a 15-minute boat ride takes you to a deluxe pontoon for an exciting 3-hour snorkeling experience with bluefin tuna, salmon, snapper and mulloway. Get outfitted in the provided snorkel, wetsuit, gloves and fins, then jump in the water. Watch the wild bluefin tuna, one of the fastest fish in the world, zip around the water.
The pontoon features an enclosed pool, where you can swim with the tuna or feed them from the deck. If you prefer to stay dry, step into the underwater observatory room to see the fish. You can even handle different marine animals in the touch pond. After three hours on the tuna pontoon, enjoy informative commentary during a short cruise around Boston Bay as you head back to shore. Keep an eye out for dolphins!
Next, visit Mikkira Station, a historic homestead that features the only koalas on the Eyre peninsula. After meeting the adorable creatures, your group heads to your hostel for the evening.
Overnight: Port Lincoln YHA, Eyre Peninsula
Day 2: Eyre Peninsula (B, L, D)
Get ready for a thrilling day where you get to go cage diving with great white sharks! Rise early to meet the boat that takes you to the Neptune Islands for your shark adventure. Sharks are easily visible from the custom-built vessel and each person gets to spend a minimum of 30 minutes behind protective bars viewing the great whites. This full-day shark cruise includes a wetsuit, video highlights reel, and all meals and drinks. Please note: The shark dive is optional and paid direct to the tour operator.
If swimming with giant predators is not on your bucket list, your full-day option starts with a trip to Whalers Way Conservation Park where you take in gorgeous coastline and look for kangaroos and emus. Then head to Port Lincoln National Park for a nature hike. Afterward, have lunch at the Glen Forest Tourist Park and stroll the 70-acre animal park where you may see buffalo, peacocks, kangaroos, koalas and other critters at close quarters. You can even hand-feed some animals.
Overnight: Port Lincoln YHA, Eyre Peninsula
Day 3: Eyre Peninsula Adelaide (B, L)
Enjoy an early start for your half-day boat cruise to experience swimming with sea lions. The day starts with a cruise to Hopkins Island where you find friendly populations of sea lions. With the provided gear and your guide, hop into the water to swim and snorkel alongside the playful pinnipeds; the more you twist and turn in the water, the more they frolic too! After an incredible time with the sea lions, return on the late afternoon ferry to Wallaroo, then arrive in Adelaide around 7pm where your tour ends.
