Journey deep into Oahu’s Ka'a'awa Valley and experience verdant ranch land and mountains on this horseback-riding adventure at Kualoa Ranch. Located less than an hour from busy Honolulu, Kualoa Ranch's peaceful environment, well-trained horses and expert wranglers will ensure that you have a safe and fun experience.
Take a scenic drive through the Hawaiian countryside or select the transportation option for pick-up and drop-off from select Waikiki locations. Once arrived, you'll embark on your adventure! This new adventure package combines 3 of our famous tours in one - 1hr Horseback ride, Movie Sites & Ranch Tour and our Tropical Garden Tour. Take in the beauty of the ranch while dining on a delicious buffet lunch before completing your day at the ranch!
1-Hour Horseback
Kualoa’s horseback tours offer guests the opportunity to experience the spectacular scenery of Oahu’s hidden valleys. On this one-hour tour, ride the southern half of Kualoa to take in views of the famed Mokoli’i island (“Chinaman’s Hat”) and our ancient 800-year old Hawaiian fishpond. One hour tour time includes time for safety briefing.
Movie Sites & Ranch Tour
This behind-the-scenes tour showcases many of the familiar movie sites where Hollywood blockbusters have been filmed since the 1950’s at Kualoa.You’ll see iconic Jurassic sets like the Indominus Rex dinosaur pen, the Jurassic Park gate, the Gyrosphere loading dock, as well as the famous fallen log from Jurassic Park. Continue with Godzilla’s footprints, the bunkers from LOST, a Hawaii Five-0 set, and even a walk around the location of the Hukilau Cafe from 50 First Dates. To refresh your memory, movie clips of the various scenes shot at Kuala are shown to enhance the tour.
Tropical Garden Tour
Guests will also explore the tropical fruit and flower gardens ofMoli’ialong the shores fronting our “Secret Island”. Admire the accomplishments of the early Hawaiians as the rich stories of the voyaging canoe and ancient fishpond unfold. Taste some of the fruits along the way depending on season.
Lunch Buffet Menu

Wheel Chair Accessibility: A Transfer vehicle equipped with a lift is available with a minimum of 2 days notice. Kualoa Ranch is wheelchair accessible. For some activities individuals must be able to self-assist or be a member of a party that can assist them. For ATV and Horseback tours, riders must be able to hold themselves upright without assistance. Please indicate during booking for the most convenient arrangements.

This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

This is not difficult riding as it is all at walking pace - anything faster is banned. The ranch is in attractive settings. It is fun to ride through one of the gates from Jurassic World and we rode through the skeleton graveyard from Kong Skull Island. I did the 2 hour ride. There is a one hour ride but looking at the map of the ranch this would be quite short without much to see. It is worth making a full day of going to the ranch and booking something else which also enables you to sort out transport to and from the ranch. If you are a regular rider, mounting the horse from the right will seem very strange. I am not sure why they do this as everywhere else I have been and in my own riding practice this is always on the left side of the horse.

Excellent excursion! Well worth the money. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and calm horses. This is an excellent trip for beginners and children. The views are worth every penny and it doesn't feel like a typical horseback riding tour.

The views and scenery were amazing. The horses were docile and in good control. I only wish the guides very friendly and gave good instruction re: handling the horses could have given more narrative about what we were seeing. For me, it was difficult to hear them as 1 was too far in front of me and the other was too far behind me. Otherwise, very good experience.

The people here are really great! Keep in mind, they go RAIN OR SHINE. It was a total dounpour when we went and they still put us on the horses and let us go! Would definitely be better in the sun!

Really good trip through the Ranch. We had a great tour guide and really well trained horses. You pretty much sit there and the horses walk the route with very little input from the rider. The guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. The only downside is that being more experienced riders, we would have liked to have a trot/canter, which is not really allowed on this tour, so just something to keep in mind when booking this. Overall, an excellent experience!
