An extended Garment District tour designed to coincide with New York Fashion Week, this three-hour walking tour is perfect for those who are interested in a slightly more in-depth look at the fashion industry. Enjoy a mix of garment and retail industry history, fashion landmarks, fabric and trim stores, famous design schools, TV filming locations, "insider" stories about working in the fashion industry, and more. Along the way, visit at least one designer showroom or other fashion workspace to learn about the design process, and pay a visit to the site of New York Fashion Week to soak up the fabulous fashions, snap some photos and maybe even spot a celebrity or two!

Tour highlights include popular television filming locations, fashion landmarks (Bryant Park, Fashion Walk of Fame), fabric and trim stores, well-known design schools and other famous industry-related buildings and more. Along the way, delve into the history of New York's garment manufacturing and retail industries (including the histories of great department stores like Macy's and Lord & Taylor) and explore the history of Fashion Week from its earliest beginnings in the 1940s to the present day.
