Step into the wooden shoes of the original settlers of New York and see what life was like being an employee rather than a colonist. Based on exciting new research taking place over the last 35 years, your guide will show you a brand-new side of this brave new world that you’ve never heard of before. From Native American raids, to the origin of the cookie, to everyone’s least favorite peg-legged governor, you’ll see it all!

Start in Battery Park, by Castle Clinton National Monument at the southern-most tip of Manhattan. From there, explore Manhattan's financial district, seeing all of the monuments dedicated to this exciting period in New York's history. Then hit Wall Street, where you may find that the things you thought were very "New York" were actually very Dutch!

Finally, in true 17th-century Dutch fashion, end the tour in a tavern on Stone Street -- the oldest paved street in New York City-- for some food and drink.
