Escape the crowds and discover the rainforest islands of Southeast Alaska in a small group guided hike. Visit the Tongass, America's largest National Forest, and discover traditional and medicinal uses of the forest. As you explore the pristine trails, you'll be guided by a trained naturalist who is CPR/First Aid certified. Your guide will conduct a bear safety speech and provide you with water and granola snacks. Transportation to and from the trail head is included in the ticket price, as well as all relevant taxes and fees.

After meeting your guide on the dock, escape the crowds and noise of downtown to learn about Ketchikan's history on a 15 minute city tour and drive to the trail head. You will spend about 2 hours on the trail and have excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, such as eagles, deer, bears, and salmon spawning. Learn traditional and customary uses of the forest by Native Americans, discover current forestry practices, touch the largest trees in the area, and feed the fish. As you enjoy the serenity of the forest, ask questions and learn the the answers. Unwind on the return to town.

Bottled water and granola snacks are provided. This tour is a partner with the USDA Forest Service and operates in all weather. Group size is limited to 12.
